Allow ample time for out-of-towners to make travel arrangements by sending Save the Date
announcements in advance.
Inform your family and friends with a customized map and hotel reservation card to
familiarize them with each location.
It is advisable to order invitations at least 3-4 months before your wedding date.
This will allow sufficient time for assembling and addressing the invitation. It is also
wise to order an additional 25 envelopes to cover any mistakes made in addressing.
A return address on the flap of the outer envelope is essential. This will allow
undeliverable invitations to be returned to you. Have the return address printed in advance to save you time.
Because response cards are often returned unsigned or illegibly, it is suggested that
you number-code your guest list and the back of each response card on the lower back
corner in small print for ease of tracking. Request that cards be returned by a date that
is at least 3 weeks before the date of the wedding or event.
Invitations should be mailed 10 to 15 weeks before the wedding. Be sure to verify
questionable postal codes or envelope sizes, and to weigh a completely assembled invitation
at the post office to determine the correct postage required.
